1 : What are trans fats and why should I avoid them?

When oils are hydrogenated, it means hydrogen atoms are added to fat molecules so they'll stay stable and harden at room temperature. Trans fats are oils that have been hydrogenated, and they've been widely linked to a number of health problems.

2 : What are plant sterols?

Plant sterols, or phytosterols, are naturally occurring compounds found in small amounts in plants such as grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits and nuts. Phytosterols compete with cholesterol for absorption during digestion, and this helps to limit the amount of cholesterol absorbed into the blood stream. Clinical studies have shown that 1,300mg of plant sterol esters per day helps reduce cholesterol when consumed as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol.

3 : How do Nutdelight Premium Spreads help to improve my      cholesterol ratio?

Researchers have discovered that the right blend of fats can help support healthy cholesterol levels that are already within normal limits by improving the ratio of "good" HDL to "bad" LDL when at least 2/3 of fat intake comes from our buttery spreads or the Nutdelight™ Food Plan. Only Nutdelight uses this special, patented blend of natural oils in its products. Please note that you should limit total fat to 30% of calories and saturated fats to 10% of calories and limit cholesterol to 300mg per day. You should also aim to avoid foods with partially hydrogenated oil and exercise regularly.

4 : What are Omega-3s and why do I need them?

Omega-3s are essential fatty acids that your body needs to function effectively. They're called "essential" because your body can't make them on its own. You have to get them from food or supplements.

5 : What are animal Fats?

Any Fats that are obtained from animal origin are known as Animal Fats. The foods that contain animal fat include: pastries, cheese, ice cream, chocolate and chewing gum. Other foods are butter, poultry, whole milk, eggs, red meats and processed meats.

6 : Why Nutdelight is advantageous over Butter?

Butter is high in Saturated Fats and Cholesterol thus increasing the risk of Hearth disease and Stroke. Considering these factors, Nutdelight offers Cholesterol and trans fats free premium spread to serve you all the day long.

7 : What makes Nutdelight trans fat free?

There are three key ways to avoid trans fats in spreads:
1) Lowering fat content to limit trans fats to less than one-half gram per serving, thereby qualifying to claim zero trans fat content per serving;

2) Full hydrogenation and interesterification, two separate chemical processes using heated oil with a metal catalyst which saturate the fat with hydrogen so that trans fats can't be formed; and

3) Use of natural saturates in place of partial hydrogenation or full hydrogenation and interesterification. Nutdelight uses natural saturates (palm fruit oil) and balances it with polyunsaturates of natural oils. This comprises the patented, Nutdelight blend that we believe to be superior to other methods of avoiding trans fatty acids.
